CHEERLEADERS!

Basic Information on the Siberian Husky
The Siberian husky is a funny, loving and intelligent animal. This canine is medium to large in build and a burst of fun and energy. Many people choose to raise these dogs due to their beautiful eyes and coat, but later abandon and give them away due to their behaviour.
Siberian huskies are mischievous as well as loving. They were originally bred to be sled dogs, therefore their love for running is very apparent. If given a choice between eating food or running, you will find that the husky almost always chooses a good run.
Siberians can be easily trained, if you're able to hold their attention long enough. Highly intelligent and attention loving, Siberians don't like to be neglected. They also dislike being leashed as they prefer to have the ability to run around
Here is a list of advantages and disadvantages that you will want to consider before purchasing a Siberian.
Advantages
1. Siberians are not aggressive. They may scare away some people by their wolf like appearance, but a husky will be very friendly towards anyone that approaches him/her.
2. They are very playful, therefore making them great with children (especially children with a lot of energy.) You will find that either the husky will tire out the kids or they will fall asleep together.
3. Siberians are very intelligent. Be careful what you allow your husky to see. For example, huskies can very easily learn how to open doors with their mouths to escape.
4. Huskies do not consume a lot of food.
5. They prefer to howl rather than bark. Siberians often try to communicate with you through their very own 'howling' language. You will find that even when scolding the husky, he will often times talk back.
Disadvantages
1. Huskies are not protectors. Yes, they are great with the kids, however, they do not make great watch dogs.
2. Siberians love to run and you will find that if the door is left open or the fence unlocked, they will run out. They are not nicknamed 'the great escape artist' for nothing. If left outdoors in your backyard, huskies must be enclosed in at least a 6 feet tall fence with 3 feet of fence underground, otherwise they will be able to dig or jump their way out.
3. Siberians love to dig! And not just small holes, Sibes will dig holes up to 2-3 feet.
4. Very destructive when bored. No amount of discipline will curve his appetite to be mischievous. If left unattended in your home, you are more than likely to come home to a mess.
5. Sheds like none other! Huskies usually shed twice a year, but shed excessively when they do.
6. They adore attention and will demand it often.
Overall, a Siberian husky is a great pet to have. While huskies are gentle, they can play a little rough with children...their favorite technique is tackle. Female huskies are not as playful as males, but can be more protective in nature and just as equally destructive.

Let the Game Begin
Let the Game Begin - an analogy of the Christian fight for righteousness
I can see this work we do with God as the drive a football team makes for the goal-line. The football game scenario seems to work quite well for comparison. The apostle Paul used Olympic Games as a comparison in his time also. He said, "I run toward the goal, so that I can win the prize of being called to heaven. This is the prize that God offers because of what Christ Jesus has done." Philippians 3:14
In football there is the coach, who surveys the field and sees what needs to happen for the team to reach the goal. He sets the pace and instills the vision of victory in his players. He has checked out the other team, run the numbers, strategized and utilized all his resources. He is sure of what he needs his team to do in order to win the game. There are the assistant coaches. They confer with and work beside the coach, to unify the team' efforts.
They are interested in the specifics of how the players work offensively and defensively. They work with the players to train and equip them for the specific plays they need to run in order to move the ball to the end zone. They push the players to exceed what they think is their limit and build them up physically and mentally for the game. They use methods that continually build up the players to be the best they possibly can. They always have the goal in mind and work to find ways to achieve the prize.
Then, there is the kickoff and the receiving team who catches the ball and brings it as far as they can, up field towards the goal. They are the first ones on the field to set up the advantage of the offensive push to the goal. They never know what is going to happen and they have to be light on their feet and quick thinking because they don't have time to strategize the play. They have to respond to the kick whether it is off-side or a high long kick into the arms of a player about to be pummeled with bodies of several very large, weighty guys. They have to be working as a team to quickly evaluate the moves of the other players and protect their teammate who is carrying the ball.
There is the first string offensive team that runs the plays the coach signals them to run and they charge forward to the goal. They sometimes run and sometimes throw the ball down field to a player who has worked into a position of advantage. Each play advances them forward, closer and closer to the goal. Each man works with the others to move the ball closer and is ready to sacrifice themselves for the protection of the one who carries it. They have practiced and prepared for these moments. Their eye is single and the unity firm in working together on the one objective before them.
There is the defensive team that needs to come in to recover ground that was obtained by the opposing team. Their goal is the same but only in a different direction. They want to recover the ball and get it moving in the opposite direction. To take back what is rightfully theirs. To recover what was taken from them and to get the action moving quickly the other way. They watch carefully all the players of the opposing side and formulate moves that will dislodge the ball from their grip. They charge into the midst of the opposing forces with war cries of victory and move people aside to find the one with the ball. They are focused and unified to do the job right. Once they have recovered the possession of the ball they quickly hand it off to the offensive team and the action is realigned with their goal. Each team moves against the other and there is a battle that ensues for control. But only one team can be victorious. So the battle continues.
There is the second string offensive team that relieves the first string players when they need a rest. The second string players must know all that the first string players know and they must be prepared to enter into the battle and fight with the same charisma the first string does. There can be no weaknesses found by the opposing team for if there is, the opposition will find it and take advantage of it. The cost is great and the pressure intense. When the plays are called, they must do their job with precision and gusto. They are in every way the first string players replacements in order for their teammates to be able to rest and regain their strength.
There are the cheerleaders and cheering section who gives their all to encouraging the team to victory. They rally with the players and follow their every move. They cry out the charge and embolden the player' hearts with calls of support to let the players know they are there for them. They feel the players struggles and grimace at setbacks but hold on to the hope for the victory of their team. They cry when someone is hurt and they rejoice with a touchdown. Every move and action is as much a part of them as it is for the rest of the team.
There is the background team members who make sure the players have their equipment, Gatorade, dry towels, patching up of wounds, mending of equipments and cleaning of the uniforms. Everyone has their job to do and they do it for the same reason the players are. There is the band that plays the trumpeting of charge and keeping time with the motion of the players and cheering to play the music that encourages and drives the spirits forward with hope to victory. Each and every player and support person is working towards the same goal, the prize and the trophy of great accomplishment.
We have a similar objective to those who are playing football in that we have our eyes fixed on a goal also. However, our goal is the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. We are the team and support people who are just aching to get into the game. We have been practicing and preparing for this time and we just can't wait to get the opportunity to get in there and fight the good fight!
I hear the music playing and the crowds cheering. I see the lights glowing and smell the aroma of excitement wafting out towards us. I sense the electrical charge in the air for the souls that are collected together to bring about this great opportunity to play and win. Expectation is all around us. Young people are playing and practicing on the sidelines and men are preparing themselves for the work. Minds are being honed. Wills are waxing firm and strong. Hard work is being invested in the practicing of caring and loving with strategies to overcome the opposition and win the battle for righteousness. We are ready. We are willing. We are able to do this thing we have been made for. We are waiting to hear the call of our coach telling us to "Get in there and give it all you've got!"

Why Do Dogs Get Stuck Together When Breeding?
Nature is truly amazing! Nature has made a way to ensure that impregnation will occur in canine reproduction. If you have never seen mating dogs, you probably would worry that your beloved pet will be harmed because some of them would whine and appear to be hurt while staying stuck together end to end. Helping the dog by separating them could do more harm than good.
When canine copulates, the male dog would mount the female from behind. A cooperative and receptive female would move its tail to the side and allow the male to get a good hold. This is called flagging. The act of reproduction in canines is a lot different from humans. A dog's penis is not erect when it enters the bitch's vagina. Penetration is achieved because a small bone inside the penis called baculum holds the penis rigid.
Once penetration is achieved, the bulbus glandis, an erectile tissue situated at the base of the penis swells with blood and traps the penis inside the bitch's vagina. This is called the mating tie. The male dog would usually swing the legs over the female's back; turn around so that the rear ends of the dogs will be connected. Typically, the dogs would stay in this position from 5 to 30 minutes or even longer. The dogs will not the able to separate until ejaculation is finished and the bulbus glandis disengorges.
At the beginning of the mating tie, the male dog releases sperms and prostatic fluid. Getting stuck together while copulating is normal in dogs. This ensures that the semen will get inside the vagina and that the bitch will be impregnated. The mating tie prevents the semen from leaking. A female dog in heat will draw male dogs. This is due to the distinctive smell that seems to advertise the availability of the bitch. It would not be uncommon to see a female dog in heat surrounded by several male dogs. The mating tie ensures that the reproduction process will not be interrupted. It will prevent the female dog from being mated with other dogs.
The mating tie may distress the animals especially if one or both are mating for the first time. Never attempt to separate the dogs even if they seem to be hurt or distressed. Closely supervise the dogs instead to avoid any accident from happening. A bigger female that gets scared and panicky may hurt the male and vice versa. You may get on the floor to calm and settle the dogs until they are separated.

Promotion May Be Smaller Than It Appears
In Charlotte the local television station that covers the NFL Carolina Panthers promoted they would be giving a car away during the next game so tune in. They ran ads promoting the giveaway, had teases for fans at the game to see who the lucky recipient of the car would be, and then came The Big Moment.
The recipient chosen was the fan who dresses up in a blue-spiked wig and complete uniform. He never misses a Panther home game and is easily located by all fans in the stadium at his perch in the corner of the end zone. A car for the top fan -- what a great promotion! Cameras at the stadium focused in, and the image of the excited fan was projected on the big board -- what a great moment! Until they awarded him a toy handheld Porsche that wasn't a replica of what he was going to get, but was actually the car they had planned on giving away! A toy!
The television station says it was meant to be a joke. Oh really? Once the "joke" was exposed by a local sports writer, the local reaction was overwhelmingly critical that the station has misrepresented itself. In an effort to save face, the station decided to award the gentleman a pickup truck, which the fan said fit his needs better than the Porsche. Who's laughing now?
Think promotions through internally as well
Many companies enjoy offering internal competition incentives and excitingly promote the "contest." I've seen some contests go awry in a hurry when the incentives failed to meet the criteria for an effective internal promotion.
1. Be sure the "prize" is worthy of the promotion.
If you are hoping to increase sales significantly through a contest, and the upside for the company is thousands of dollars, don't be offering a pen and pencil set as the winning prize! You look cheap, disrespectful and in the eyes of employees, leadership loses credibility.
2. Be creative to make it memorable.
Working with a manufacturing company who was trying to reduce accidents, we created a promotion that really got employees' attention and made safety a topic of conversation, thus raising the awareness of safety.
The prior year the organization had 22 accidents reported. We created a sliding scale of awards beginning with, yes, a car give away. If the organization went a year without any accidents, all those eligible would be placed in a drawing for a brand new car at a participating dealership. This got everyone's attention!
Then if one accident happened, the award slid to a big screen TV, two accidents a gas grill, and so on. It kept the employees' interest and was effective in keeping awareness up and accidents were reduced measurably that year.
3. Be sure you are ready to award what you are offering!
One company I've worked with had an incentive that for every cost-saving idea an employee came up with and was implemented, the employee would receive 10 percent of the savings for one year. Pictures of the company president awarding $300 checks to employees for their ideas were running in the company newsletter. Then one employee came up with a fantastic payroll idea that would save the company over a million dollars a year.
The company suddenly dropped the incentive program, and the employee never got her award for the idea. Yes, her idea was implemented 12 months later. Once again, leadership had egg on their faces for holding back.
If you want to reward employees for ideas, don't lose sight of the bigger picture and the overall benefit the organization is receiving because you are blinded with the size of the award for the idea.

Cheating Your Way Through Life
One of baseball's biggest stars, Alex Rodriguez, recently admitted to cheating by using performance enhancing drugs while a member of the Texas Rangers. Although many baseball fans are appalled and shocked, I'm not.
Over the past few years, many star athletes have been caught taking drugs to enhance their game. Rodriguez wasn't the first to get caught cheating and he won't be the last.
As children, we are taught that cheaters never win and winners never cheat. If a child believes this going into high school, he or she may end up on the chess club instead of the football team or cheerleading squad.
We are now learning that cheaters are only getting younger.
Not only are high school students cheating in sports by taking performance enhancing drugs, they are also cheating on exams and plagiarizing their term papers.
The pressure to make good grades may decide whether your child attends Harvard or Nameless U. The stakes are high when it comes to competing for academic and athletic scholarships.
So why do people cheat? We cheat to get the edge on competition or to just get ahead in life. We live in a competitive society where winning at all costs is the only thing that matters.
If you don't believe me, just refer to the NFL.
The NFL is the biggest game in America. It's a game that makes millions, if not billions of dollars. Team owners shell out millions to coaches and players they perceive to be potential winners. But when an NFL season ends, losing coaches get discarded and winning coaches get contract extensions. This is a ritual in a sport that only wants winners.
To sum it up...society smiles upon winners and frowns on losers...only performance matters.
Someone once said that winning isn't everything...and if you believe that statement, you are either naive or played football for the 2008 Detroit Lions.
