NFL Scouting Combine 2012: Jason Garrett Breaks Down Draft Strategy at Cowboys Presser

During the Dallas Cowboys' media session at the 2012 NFL Draft Combine, third-year coach Jason Garrett was full of praise for his rookie running back out of Oklahoma, Demarco Murray. Murray, 24, saw action in 13 games during his rookie campaign, succumbing to an ankle injury late in 2011. He gave much-needed offense to a team already desimated at the running back spot, averaging 5.7 yards-per-carry. Murray's breakout game came in week 6, as he ran for 253 yards against the St. Louis Rams. Garrett explains that the draft is ideally for selecting the best players available on the board and that the team will plug holes during free agency. The media also peppered Garrett with questions about Jason Hatcher's controversial remarks, insinuating that the Cowboys lacked leadership last season.
